In this article we list all the 109 verb endings used in Italian regular verbs in alphabetical order for your perusal.
After the suffix you will find examples for that particular suffix using the model verbs amare(to love, first conjugation), temere(to fear, second conjugation) and sentire/finìre
(to feel/finish, third conjugation).
The accented vowels are displayed as
à, è or é, ì, ò or ó and ù. If no accents are displayed, that means that
the ending is unstressed
Please note that the numerals I, II, III, IV, V, VI refer respectively to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd person singular and 1st, 2nd, 3rd person plural while the tense abbreviations are as follows: pres= present indicative, past= simple past (passato remoto), fut= future, cond= conditional, subj= subjunctive, ger= gerund, inf= infinitive)
You can use this list in a variety of ways, both for reference and also to track your progress in your Italian study. For instance, ask yourself if you know in which tenses any particular suffix is used and then check the answer
immediately after the suffix!
